Elora Hardy

Elora Hardy is redefining sustainable architecture through innovative bamboo design. Founder and Creative Director of IBUKU, she blends traditional Balinese craftsmanship with modern techniques to create groundbreaking, eco-friendly structures. Under her leadership, IBUKU has built iconic landmarks such as Green School Bali, Green Village, and distinctive projects for Four Seasons, Como Hotels, and Ritz Carlton, totaling over 200 bamboo buildings worldwide.

Raised in Bali and inspired by its master artisans, Elora’s visionary approach earned her recognition as an Architectural Digest Innovator and a Royal Designer for Industry (Hon RDI). She also co-founded Bamboo U, an educational platform empowering designers and changemakers to harness bamboo’s extraordinary potential. Her influential TED Talk, Magical houses, made of bamboo, “has inspired millions globally. Through her work, Elora champions regenerative architecture, proving that design—rooted in sustainability—can profoundly shape our collective future.
